Journal of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology welcomes Kristine Boisen Olsen as new associate editor.
Dr. Kristine Boisen Olsen joins the PMI Journal as an associate editor, bringing her expertise as a consultant in forensic medicine with a particular focus on cardiovascular pathology. Dr. Olsen earned her PhD from the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen in 2010, with her thesis entitled “Regulation of Cardiac Conduction.” In 2020, she expanded her specialized training with a master’s degree in cardiovascular pathology from the University of Padua. Earlier this year, she continued her professional development with a stay at the Referral Center for Sudden Cardiac Death at St. George’s University, UK.
Researching Sudden Death and Genetic Heart Disease
Dr. Olsen’s work centers on forensic cases involving sudden unexpected death, where she collaborates closely with cardiologists and clinical geneticists to investigate potential inherited cardiovascular diseases. Her research delves into cardiovascular pathology, focusing on the development of diagnostic tools and the use of machine learning and deep learning techniques to advance understanding of cardiovascular disease mechanisms.
Board member of the Association for European Cardiovascular Pathology
In addition to her work in forensic medicine, Dr. Olsen is a board member of the Association for European Cardiovascular Pathology (AECVP), where she actively contributes to advancements in the field.
