The Journal of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology accepts articles within the research fields of

Pathology

Pathology including anatomic, histological, and molecular pathology. The primary focus is on, but not restricted to, tissue-based studies of pathological mechanisms of human and animal diseases.

The articles can describe studies on tissues collected in a clinical setting (also including veterinary medicine), in vitro and ex vivo experimental studies and animal models with clear relevance to human and animal diseases.

Microbiology

On microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses in relation to infections, cancer or other diseases and disorders.

The articles can describe work performed in experimental systems both in vitro and in vivo in relation to infections as well as directly in infections, including descriptions of the basic biology of microorganisms in relation to infections, applied/translational aspects, as well as innovative methods to study microorganisms in relation to human health.

Immunology

On immunology of infectious disease, vaccination, autoimmunity, tumor immunology, immunometabolism and the interphase between the immune response and inflammation.

The articles can describe studies on diagnostic immunology, immunotherapy, clinical immunology in both in vitro, ex vivo, in vivo and epidemiological settings.
