Author Guidelines

Journal of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology welcomes submissions from authors in the field of pathology, microbiology and immunology, and related areas of modern biomedicine. 

Priority is given to original articles and reviews. Letters to the editor may include comments on articles published or other original contributions of particular interest. Case reports will not be considered for publication. 

The Author Guidelines outline the manuscript formatting requirements, ethical considerations, and the submission process to ensure a smooth and efficient review process for your research. Please review the Author Guidelines carefully before submitting your work to our journal to enhance the quality and accessibility of your research contributions.

What kinds of contributions does the PMI Journal accept?

Priority is given to original articles and reviews. Mini-reviews are also invited for submission. Letters to the editor may include comments on articles published in APMIS or other original contributions of particular interest. Case reports will not be considered for publication.

Original articles are papers that present original and significant material based on primary research. The paper should contain an abstract, main body and references. The length of the main body is flexible and may range from at least 1500 words to a maximum of 6000 words.

Full length papers exceeding 30 pages, as well as theses, monographs, etc., may be published as supplements on acceptance by the editorial board. The author bears the full cost. Further information is available from the editorial office. All submitted manuscripts should have the language revised. Non-native speakers of English are encouraged to consider using a language editing service.

Mini-reviews, including submissions where a junior-scientist (post doc, graduate student or undergraduate student) has generated the first draft, are encouraged. Mini-reviews should be concise, summarizing new and emerging fields and be accessible to non-specialists. Manuscript format is approx. 3000 words (references not included); 1-3 figures/tables; and up to 50 references.

 

Can I submit findings from my PHD Thesis?

Yes. At the PMI Journal, we support submissions from young scientists and have a proud tradition of doing so. We welcome high-quality research contributions within the fields of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology. We encourage authors to rework their theses into one or more concise articles that meet our submission guidelines.
